Janet M. Neigel, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Board-Certified Ophthalmologist & Oculofacial Plastic Surgeon
Dr. Janet M. Neigel is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained oculofacial plastic surgeon with decades of experience specializing in cosmetic and functional eyelid surgery. Known for her meticulous technique and innovative approach, Dr. Neigel is widely regarded as a leader in advanced blepharoplasty and facial rejuvenation procedures.
A New Jersey native, Dr. Neigel earned her undergraduate degree with honors in biology from Douglass College at Rutgers University before obtaining her medical degree from UMDNJ–New Jersey Medical School. She completed her ophthalmology residency at UMDNJ, followed by advanced fellowship training in orbital and oculofacial plastic surgery at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Earlier in her training, she also studied medicine at Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines.
Dr. Neigel currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Rutgers–New Jersey Medical School, where she is actively involved in education and academic advancement. She is licensed to practice medicine in New Jersey, New York, and Florida.
While Dr. Neigel performs a wide range of oculofacial plastic and reconstructive procedures, her primary focus is blepharoplasty. At EltraSelf, she performs both cosmetic and functional eyelid surgery and is recognized for pioneering techniques that enhance appearance and function. Over the course of her career, she has successfully performed thousands of procedures, helping patients achieve natural, refreshed results.
Dr. Neigel is a frequent lecturer and presenter at national and international medical meetings and has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and academic publications. Her contributions to the field have earned her consistent recognition as a Top Doctor and multiple national honors for excellence in patient care.
